This isn't really anything new for Google specifically though, like for Crimea if you view it from Russia it will say Russian territory, if you view it from Ukraine it will say Ukraine territory, if you view it elsewhere it will say disputed, likewise with things like Taiwan and Kuril Islands. The rest of the world will continue calling it by it's actual name (Gulf of Mexico). American's will be sectioned off to their own stupid corner so I don't really care much about it.

What bothers me more is how more people oppose this than other far worse issues 
A new @reuters.com poll finds Americans have a dim view of many of the Trump administration's blizzard of executive actions, including the Jan. 6 pardons and his effort to limit birthright citizenship.
But they *really* don't like the Gulf of America thing.
