The truth is Sony confirmed 155,1 million shipped as of march 2012. That should have been sometime in may 2012 when their earnings report came. In fact some short time ago they changed that number to "over 160 million sold" at the same date march 2012! And thats not believable. Only Fanboys believe that. If i had a car company and 2012 i reported to my investors that i shipped lets say 30.000 Mercedes Benz to carstores but 13 years later i "announce" in a random twitterpodcast "hey hey actually it where 45.000 cars". That would confirm that i did not report 15.000 cars. A shareholder/ tax agencies would think maybe i sold them on the black market, the dark net (you really fund a lot of stuff there!!), or to the Yakuza/ south american drug cartels or somewhere else... There is no bill for that so its not mentioned in my earnings report. There would be an investigation because with this "announcement" i would admid having lied before.
I doubt Sony would do that. So its just hurt pride that they soon MAYBE won't be Nr.1 again... And thats unprofessional. Like i said numerous times in the Competition treat: Sony IS in DIRECT competition with Nintendo otherwise they would not spit around such lies.
