No, I follow shipment data. Sony and Nintendo both provide data to their investors. If they are found out lying, they could be sued. Sony provided data in March 2012 for 155.1m. Sony provided data in March 2013 for an unknown amount between 158-162m. Nintendo provided data for DS in March 2016 for 154m If Sony or Nintendo said 164m than that would contradict the shipment data. Sony saying 160m does not contradict that shipment data. Get over it. There is 0% chance I will ever believe some random user over Sony's or Nintendo's shipment data. Now if only MS provided more shipment data... |
They should get sued! One possibility is that they lied now. They saw Switch comes close and will trounce 155 million so they changed their number to "over 160 million sold through" hoping no one would remember their fiscal report 2011/12 where 155,1 million shipped was confirmed.
Or they where lying to their shareholders, telling them they shipped less than they did. That means they would hide 5 million+ PS2s they shipped back then. More shipped consoles mean more income= more income tax to pay for them. Failing to pay invome tax for 5 million PS2s... thats a huge deal. And this possibility i could exclude. So i think they lied now.
