The deal, which the White House is reportedly negotiating, would see ByteDance keeping a minority stake in TikTok while “the app’s algorithm, data collection and software updates will be overseen by Oracle.”
Overseen by Oracle, owned by Larry Ellison, just the man who Trump wanted, Lol. Ellison was among the few top technology executives to openly support Trump during the 2020 campaign. The Desert Sun reported that he hosted a fundraiser for the former president at his Rancho Mirage, California, estate. Ellison committed $1 billion in financing to help his longtime friend Elon Musk buy Twitter Inc.

But this is only the start of our surveillance dystopia, according to Larry Ellison, the billionaire cofounder of Oracle. He said AI will usher in a new era of surveillance that he gleefully said will ensure "citizens will be on their best behavior." Ellison said AI would be used in the future to constantly watch and analyze vast surveillance systems, like security cameras, police body cameras, doorbell cameras, and vehicle dashboard cameras.
"We're going to have supervision," Ellison said. "Every police officer is going to be supervised at all times, and if there's a problem, AI will report that problem and report it to the appropriate person. Citizens will be on their best behaviour because we are constantly recording and reporting everything that's going on."
