What are good sales for a game which releases only on PC and Xbox consoles where you can also play it on Gamepass? Do you have any number to talk about or is it just one of these feelings where you have no idea how high the sales should be to call it a success?

And most Steam players are pretty much people who like to play either hardcore singleplayer games or multiplayer games. Sony's singleplayer games also don't destroy the Steam charts and that's without a Playstation subscription service on PC.

Well fact is highest peak for the game was 12kish compared to 330k for Starfield that also was on gamepass the gap is huge,  also steamspy says the sales are around 10 times less than Starfield.

Based on the max sales indy revenue was around 20 million (compared to starfield 250 million on steam but ok that was after 4 months).

If we extrapolate what we know about the NPD 5.8 billion total spending for the month on video game content we can expect the top 5 to have each hundreds of millions of revenue but how lower we go how less. On 14th place probably not reached 100 million in revenue (and thats with steam included).

The rest of world hardly buys xbox consoles so I don't really expect high numbers.

So to answer your question I think good sales can depend on many factors but the base is 'made more money than the cost' and knowing that Disney also ask for a cost I don't see it being profitable yet.  And I will say it again, the game deserved better sales atleast I hope it pushes gamepass numbers a lot.

First of all, you compare Starfield on Steam to Indi. Not sure why you would do that because it should be obvious that Starfield is a bigger game and also that Steam players are more leaning towards such a game. Which games similar to Indi did sell many units full price on Steam? You also don't know how many PC players subscribed to GP when Starfield released and how many when Indi released. Higher GP numbers should mean less sales.

Then you talk about the revenue of a Gamepass game. Some Netflix movies have 0 revenue, Fortnite has 0 revenue from game sales. Indiana made money from sales and is a game of the subscription service meant to sell subscriptions with a library of "free" games.

If you check TrueAchievements it will tell you that Indiana was played by millions of people already. It is already in front of games like Hogwarts Legacy. Sure, first achievement in Indiana is super easy but with 221k gamers there, it doesn't look too bad. The Nr. 1 game with GTA has 747k, Cyberpunk 362k and Palworld 286k...and btw, Starfield has 436k and also has a very easy first achievement. So twice as much as Indi with 16 against 1.5 months. If Indie did so bad in sales, then it has to do pretty good numbers at GP considering Starfield numbers.

I'm not saying that Indi is a crazy blockbuster blowing everything out of the water but you simply have no idea if it was a success but still judge it as if you would know it.
