As Kevboard points out, on Neogaf.... this controller also has the C button.
This in turn means this button isn't tied to the joycons but some function, the Switch 2 will have, that all controllers for it must then have.
ei. not cursor and a button to use the joycons like a mouse ect.
His guess is this could be like a "chat" button? he also mentions its positioning is close to where Sony has its "mute" button (on the dual sense).
And that its above where you would expect a microphone jack to be.
Just speculation but.... interesting take.
(others think it could be a "capture" button, used for screenshot or recording small game clips)
Also this kinda confirms the name of Switch 2 imo.... right?
So people hoping for Nintendo to go some odd route of naming again are likely wrong this time.
