Famiboards believes the leaked Switch 2 motherboard pics are real, which seem to indicate an 8 nm SoC or something close to it.
Makes me wonder what Samsung promised Nintendo (probably the same sweet talk that swayed Nvidia, Apple, etc. in the past, much to their detriment) which might explain the very unusual dock fan and higher PSU.
If I were to take a wild, wild guess, some internal target that Samsung promised wasn't being reached when all was said and done, so Nintendo delayed the console and did what they could to at least salvage the docked mode's performance.
