I really don't get the consternation around Ciri being the protagonist of The Witcher 4. That was general consensus before there was any announcement. They were building towards Ciri taking the lead. It was plain as day. I get the questions about her undergoing the Trail of the Grasses but her being the protagonist comes off as people farming for engagement.
