What I was getting at is that nowhere is it Christmas 'Day' on 24 december. I guess you're mistaken with Christmas 'Eve', which has a varying degree of importance between countries or regions, from non at all to a big deal.
But anyway yes obviously an announcement on Christmas, whether it be 24, 25 or 26 december (which actually is still Christmas where I am) was never going to happen.
