Woke has no real meaning at all. "Liberalism", in Europe, always was a center-right idea. So, in US, people got scammed by the power, making them believe "neoliberal ideas" as "WOKE" is (with no clear definitions... but purely based on cheap emotions) were "the left". Nope, It wasn't. 

I 100% believe "WOKE" word was used as a trojan horse by conservatism against progressivism. And worked very well during some years.

And to be more clear: In any Left Totalitarian countries, ANYTHING remotely related to WOKE (sexual free identifications, and overuse of extremely blurry language, basically), would have been criminally persecuted: Try to be WOKE in North Korea, and tell me. 

EXACTLY as it would do in any classical Right Totalitarian countries (No WOKE for you in NAZI Germany neither, sorry).

"WOKE" only "works well" in a very very (neo)liberal society. Like some parts of US, or in Israel (promoting itself as an LGTBQ tourist-friendly country in their ads, while at the same time, heavely violating ALL the human rights with palestinians. Pure neoliberalism).
