Wow a surprisingly strong week for Switch, 20k higher than last year! It'll easily surpass 3m for the year.
The disastrous PS5 price increase is on full display, having the worst week 48 of it's life outside of 2021 when Sony simply had no stock to sell in Japan those holidays. Not even the recently launched Pro could get this week to compete with previous years. Really gotta be wondering what Sony is thinking. It's hard to imagine getting a bit extra money from each console sold is worth more than the money they would get from selling hundreds of thousands more consoles per year (in Japan alone) plus their take from all the additional software plus other things like controllers that would be sold to all those additional would-be owners. Just really awful and anti-consumer decision on Sony's part. I guess they finally found out, at least in Japan, that people aren't simply willing to pay any amount of money to own a playstation.
