Even if you just leave the switch in the dock with no power and not being used, the switch is technically docked. A dock is just something that something else sits in. The dock itself doesn't function, without the Switch it can't do anything. It's like connecting your phone/ laptop to a TV and then giving 50% of credit to the cable.  |
Maybe it doesn't count for you, but it counts for me and just about everyone else.
