I don't think anyone has tried to take anything away from "real" hybrids. I feel like you're the one who's trying to take that description away from the Switch. Besides the Switch Lite, you've been trying so hard to keep the Switch categorized as a handheld console only despite it working as a home console as well. As I told you before, the Switch uses its full power when docked, allowing games to run at a higher resolution than in portable mode. In portable mode, it uses a lower power profile since it's running on its battery instead of running on the dock. The way the system works is why it's considered a hybrid. |
I know the Switch had different power profiles and and clock speeds when docked. The problem with that logic is that, the switch can be overclocked without a dock too. It doesn't need a dock to achieve a higher power draw and higher clock speed, it's capable of that without it. So how could a dock raising a clock speed mean it's a hybrid, when raising the clock without a dock means it's still a portable.
