I don't think anyone has tried to take anything away from "real" hybrids. I feel like you're the one who's trying to take that description away from the Switch. Besides the Switch Lite, you've been trying so hard to keep the Switch categorized as a handheld console only despite it working as a home console as well.
As I told you before, the Switch uses its full power when docked, allowing games to run at a higher resolution than in portable mode. In portable mode, it uses a lower power profile since it's running on its battery instead of running on the dock. The way the system works is why it's considered a hybrid.
