It's already been said but yes there is a difference between PS4 outsold Gameboy and PS2 is still the highest selling in history. It's exactly what they are flaunting under PS2. I find it so funny that Sony fans really are trying to defend this. Can you imagine if Nintendo said all these years ago that DS sold 154 million and then 10 years later they adjust the figures to 164 million? You think no one would notice or find that weird? Especially with the timing of a competitors product.
