Finally we have at least true confirmation regarding the final sales figure range of the PS2. Sold over 160 Million but we know based on calculations of Sony's PS3/PS2 sales that it's less than 161.9 Million. Giving us a range between 160-161.9M the PS2 sold.

However, I don't think the PS2 exceeded 161 Million. If it did it seems like Sony would've said " Sold over 161 Million" like they did with their other consoles on the website but they didn't.

Some may say Sony was just rounding to 160 Million, but they didn't do that with their other consoles. For example, for the PS1 they didn't say "Sold over 100 Million" which would've made sense if they were rounding, but they didn't, they specifically rounded to the nearest millionth stating "sold over 102 Million". This makes be doubtful the PS2 sold over 161 Million cause if it did, they would've stayed consistent rounding to the nearest millionth like they did with their other consoles, but they didn't.

This narrows down the range to the PS2 selling somewhere between 160-160.99 Million. I'll personally consider the Switch to win if it reaches 161 Million.

I agree the PS2 is most likely between 160,000,001 and 160,999,999 units sold. We decided to put it at 160.01M on the Platform Totals page as they said over 160M. I wish they were as good as Nintendo and round their figures to the nearest 10K.
