Correct on both. For 49, the 4 countries is a reference to the 4 new fighters in Super Street Fighter II (Cammy from England, T Hawk from Mexico, Fei Long from Hong Kong, and Dee Jay from Jamaica)

44 is the first Metal Gear Solid, where Psycho Mantis reads your memory card data.
