Alyx is a masterpiece by itself! Valve showing they've still got it. VR is 100% the best way to play the game, but you can also use the NoVR mod. It takes away some of the more immersive gameplay elements, but the game is still incredible to play and clearly has game design philosophy of the 2000s still. The game is on sale for only $20 till this Friday if you wanna pick it up and play with the mod until you get a VR headset. All achievements are unlockable with the mod too btw. The mod is a launcher, so it auto-updates whenever there's a new version out.

I won't play it that way the first time since I wanna experience it the best way possible. I'll probably try that mod afterwards to see how it compares out of curiosity though so thanks for the suggestion!
