Soundwave said: The economy will either rebound or it won't, but likely it doesn't in terms of affordability. The same trends that exist today will exist in 4 years, quite probably even worse, the stock market and jobs rate is technically "very good" right now. Stock market has largely been hitting highs all through Biden's term. The economy on a technical level today is "good", the problem is average joes don't feel that way and the price of everything has gone up. It sucks for people who would like to see a woman in that spot, but the fact is the Democrats are 3 for 3 out of the last 3 elections and overall 5 for 7 overall going back to Bill Clinton with male candidates at the top of the ticket. Those are pretty high win rates. |
Gavin Newsom is someone I could agree with under ordinary circumstances.
But the GOP and evangelical church have spent the past 50 years conditioning Southerners and Midwesterners to hate California. I'd dare say they hate California more than they hate Russia. In Oklahoma, where I have the most experience with the South, "California" is practically a profanity. I'm not kidding, either. Republicans in Oklahoma regularly say the C-word to scare voters into voting for them in their speeches, SM posts, and political ads.
The only thing Vance would have to do to beat Newsom in 2028 is flash the word "California" under Newsom's picture. I'm pretty sure that didn't help Harris, either.
