I mean if you blamed the Clinton’s and Obama’s neoliberalism I’d sympathise and agree. But this is really lazy and so 2016, even for you. Kamala’s campaign was devoid of any cultural bs rhetoric. The American right dominate twitter, YouTube and the most popular podcasts. Authoritarianism? What the fuck are you talking about |
That's the thing though, the Dems are tied to "the left" in people's minds whether they like it or not. It didn't matter that Harris steered clear of that sort of thing in the last few months leading up to the day, the baggage of the last ten years was there in people's minds regardless, and conservative messaging made sure to connect the two.
It's not fair, but it's how things are.
There's honestly not much Harris could do, she was tied to an unpopular regime and a platform that had lost touched with a lot of the population.
The silver lining is, the pendulum swings both ways, and it's unlikely Trump will manage to fix much of what he claims he will, so if Dems play their cards right, they could win back power in 2028.
But to do so they're going to have to go back to the drawing board and rethink their strategy, because the current one isn't working.
