How do you play your video games?

Most of them are open-ended anyway apart of the RPGs, which I do step by step and then redo with a different party composition

Only exception is Eador: Masters Of The Broken World, but even on the easiest setting this game takes a couple hundred hours to play through (To give you some context, the game is broken down into turns, and each turn is a new game on an increasingly large map that might take as long as a session in Civ to complete), so you pretty much need to take some breaks in between.
