Assuming that the pendulum swings back the Democrats' way in four years' time. History suggests it probably will, as it's surprisingly rare for someone to be elected to succeed a sitting president from the same party (since the Civil War there's only been Rutherford Hayes, James Garfield, Herbert Hoover, and George H.W. Bush, once you take out the former VPs who succeeded a deceased president mid-term and then won an election in their own right), but it really depends on the Democrats finding the right candidate and the Republicans not being able to find someone with Trump's appeal.
