Interesting tidbit about Capcom's sales in Japan.

"The company sold a total of 20.02 million games so far for the fiscal year, which is down 11.4 percent year-on-year. 10.74 million or 54 percent of those sales were digital PC sales, while digital console sales accounted for 8.02 million units or 40 percent of the total. Physical game sales accounted for just 1.26 million units or six percent of the total.

Breaking down the total games sold, there were 3.09 million games sold in Japan"

You don't really see Capcom's games in the top 10 or 30 and I don't remember any major releases for Capcom in this period but they sold over 3m games in 6 months. The physical maximum was 1.26m, but those are worldwide numbers. Likely less than 1m physical sales in Japan (realistically less than 500k), leading to over 66% digital rate. PC is taking more and more marketshare in Japan and worldwide, but I still think console is quite strong in Japan relatively. This likely means a lot of sales on console in Japan are digital.

To compound this. Nintendo said that 42.9% of their games were digital in the same period.

Compared to Capcom console of 86% being digital.

You can see there is 2:1 magnitude of difference, hence why you might see famitsu dominated by Nintendo and never see 3rd party games like Capcom's chart.

Both of the numbers above were WW, and I would be willing to say it is closer to a 2.5:1 or 3:1 magnitude in Japan.

To be fair, Nintendo is unique even among console companies to have that low digital sales ratio, PS and Xbox have long since had the majority of their sales coming from digital.

But Capcom is unique in that they are so clearly wanting to abandoning consoles in favor of PC, they have already abandoned Nintendo consoles for their major games and even PS and Xbox is no longer a priority for them compared to PC.
