I think Nintendo's presentation was a step up from MS's (though I admit being a bit biased in N's favor, even if I am a Wii60 guy). Wasn't as defensive - MS tried hard to sell how successful the 360 is; obviously Nintendo doesn't have to do that. Also give 'em props for directly addressing criticisms, which again belies more faith in their product (no way could MS address the failure rate in it's presentation).

I think they did a good job of selling their overall lineup and strategy. Mario Kart online is huge, and the 3 new controllers (at cheap prices) is good. Can't wait to get the new zapper. The final dates for the Trinity was an absolute must.

That said, it could have been more. Not a great deal of breadth revealed when it comes to 3P support (showroom floor, maybe? I understand N has to hock its own), and MK was really the only unknown title shown. WiiFit... well, my wife seemed interested. I'm just curious what else the board can be used for. Everyone knows what Nintendo has this year. I think they needed to reassure that there would be even more coming in 2008; more names needed to be dropped.

In short, I think they did what they had to do, but didn't go the extra mile.

8 out of 10.

FTR - G4 was better too - fewer, less intrusive breaks than with the MS conference. They really need to find a better way to do this next year. And if these continue to be televised, both MS and Nintendo need to spice up their conferences to show it. This isn't being watched by millions of shareholders - this is going out to their core audiences, and I think we want to be wowed.
