it's better to let them know what stage you want before or if you want to wait till after you lose to give your stage of choice let them know, so you can check the thread to see what counterpick has been chosen

 

 

That defeats the entire point of a counterpick. Counterpicks are chosen as a result of a match, not as a precursor.
