That's completely fair. For me I'm not into the theorizing aspect with Deltarune that much so like Undertale would prefer experiencing the entire story at once. Though there's spoilers like I mentioned and last I checked there's gonna be 7 chapters so waiting till the 2030's for the complete package doesn't sound ideal thus there's a decent chance I play 3 and 4 when they come out.

The main benefit is giving people something every few years instead of Undertale fans having to wait till the 2030's to play Toby's next game. For Toby himself there's being able to do stuff like sell Deltarune merch since 2018, continue to gain popularity at a steady pace and take feedback at each release into consideration.
