In 1939 there was famously a Nazi rally in MSG. To be fair, the vast vast majority of events held at MSG were not Nazi rallies. But, just like that rally, a huge focus was anti-immigrant, and anti-anyone who isn't white. So, when you have people on stage saying that Time Square has been taken over by immigrants (I have been there many times recently and it is as it has always been) or that Puerto Rico is an island of garbage (Puerto Ricans are certainly not illegal immigrants, so it's not about immigration), or that all Palestinians are terrorists, it raises some eyebrows. You combine this with the fact that there is not much of a reason to do a rally in MSG. New York is not in contention this year. So, why do a rally there? One theory is that it's a dog whistle to white supremacists. Combining the location, the tone of the rally, public statements by Trump that are nearly verbatim Hitler quotes (i.e. immigrants are poisoning the blood of the country), recent reports from credible sources about Trump praising Hitler in private... And yeah, you got a pretty good case that this was an intentional appeal to nazis. But you know, inflation in the US was almost as bad as it was in every other developed nation over the past four years, so why not elect a fascist. Maybe he can make sure the trains run on time.Â
Any evidence that there is a large amount of Republicans voting for Harris? It certainly is possible, but I have not seen any proof of that yet. |
It’s all anecdotal, but there’s literally thousands of tweets from registered Republicans and independents who said they’re not only voting for Kamala, but Democratic down the ticket. It’s all in that video.
I’ve seen snippets of YouTube comments from registered Repubs saying the same as well, none for Trump from the other side. I’ve yet to see a single Dem cross-party voter.
