doesn't matter how "hardcore" they may be, esp when this game chooses such a radically different take on the gameplay loop (hence, "hardcore" backlash isn't anything too shocking). Again, the disappointed tend to be the most vocal: TotK, Mario Wonder, TTYD, GoW:R, SM2, HFW, BG3, FFVIIReBirth, Dragon's Dogma 2, Helldivers 2, etc., demonstrate this vocal minority concept all too well. And while the only social media platform I use it VGChartz (with maybe ten minutes devouted to glancing at Twitter), I can't say I've seen too much disappointment among the ppl I follow, though it certainly is an instance of you either love it or hate it. There's an agreed upon consensus that the UI is a mess (as it was in TotK), but all-in-all, the ppl who do enjoy the game (which is a heavy majority) have been gushing over it. Getting back to your original comment: I don't agree with your theory of this "Nintendo bump" on Zelda EoW, especially when it's review score places it below all mainline 2D and 3D Zelda games, as well puts it below even top 20 top rated games of the year. It certainly is a game worthy of its acclaim, even if it lacks that same Zelda polish we all have come to know. Also, I don't understand why you've been so insistent in asserting Zelda EoW as being a disappointment? I feel like we already had this discussion, and it was literally on the same day the game launched...? Not sure why you want to believe the game is bad lol, just seems like unneeded negativity. |
Yeah, I surrrpose ya can't gleam the games popularity off of a few and indeed it is always the hardcore that tend to hate new ideas. How do you think it would have reviewed if it wasn't a zelda game though?
