Ryuu96 said: It's a bit concerning how close the referendum was, there was a lot of Russian misinformation operations to turn people against the EU and there was even straight up paying people to vote against it, seems like it had a decent impact, if no won I would have obviously accepted it and moved on because we're not Russia and we don't invade people for not wanting to be in our non-aggressive group but I also feel a bit wary about inviting another member into EU who may be easily suspectable to Russian misinformation cause I don't want another Hungary in EU, Lol. On the flip side it seems like Sandu is very pro-Europe/Ukraine so we'll have to see how the 2nd round of elections go, her opponent did better than polls predicted. |
Yeah as much as I understood, not only her biggest opponent is pro-Russia but the other ones as well so that the votes they got will mostly go to her biggest opponent. And like you said, even if they will be part of the EU anytime, there will be always the risk for the next decades that some dude will be elected who will do everything to be like cancer for the EU as much as Hungary is now.
