Within 10 years there will be AGI (Artificial general intelligence), that can make redundant large amounts of the workforce.
Ironically I think, the physical jobs, that demand humans do x actions, will be the last to go.
I could see a lot of desk jobs, go.  Like if you work in front of a computer all day, your job is at risk imo.

I don't think brick layers and plumbers ect...., will get replaced by robots/AGI first.
It will be the computer/desk jobs, that a AI can do, at near or better than typical humans will be able to.
Which will likely be sometime within the next 10 years.

Within 100 years, or maybe even just 50years time,... it could be every job.
There could be robot cleaners, plumbers, brick layers too (think "I, Robot" type models, that just do all the work).

Society will need to adapt / change for something like this.

.

I'll give you a scary thought. Take into account global warming and it's threat and now think at what point along this timeliness do the 1% not need the 99% anymore when AI and robotics can do most of everything and they can keep the lifestyles they're used to, perhaps even better..

Not much value in haveing all the power and money, if your the only person left on the planet.
Imagine all you do, is controll a bunch of robots....

Theres no entertainment.. no other humans to talk too.... just your friendly Ai bot.
I don't think the super elite have much reason to kill off vast amounts of the population.

I wouldn't put it past the US or China, trying to depopulate the world, though a war or virus though.
Maybe WW3 wipes out like 90% of the human population and 10,000 years from now, the planet is right back on track :p
Bacteria, fungus figoured out how to eat plastic, give it some time, most of that will be gone, and some of those forever compounds we poluted the world with as well.
