A key part of that is the lack of stakes though. It was not going to change whether Biden was nominated. They can show that they're opposed to the issue, and not lose out on anything else. Which is not the case with the election. People that care about woman's rights, trans rights, climate change, etc are still going to show up at election time. |
Yes, let's hope most swing votes realize that there is much more at stake.
For Gaza/Lebanon Trump or Harris doesn't really seem to matter much. While Biden/Harris call for ceasefires and restraint, they're actions speak a lot louder. They signed off on another 9 Billion in military aid for Israel just before the Lebanon ground invasion, after the assassinations and pager attacks.
What more can Trump do than what's already happening...
And there is morality at stake. Some people won't vote for either Trump or Harris based on morality. Abstention or protest vote on Jill Stein is also a vote, even though the US' electoral system ignores them. Same as at the primaries.
But yes, there is so much more at stake :/ Even though Trump will further weaken the USA, the way in which that will happen will cause a lot of collateral damage in and outside the USA. Harris at least has a bigger chance of keeping the country together. Trump will drive the USA further apart next to making Russia more dangerous again, letting Ukraine succumb to Russia's war of attrition.
