100% true.  Sega has been niche for decades.  Literally decades.  

CD was a failure 

32x was a failure 

Saturn was a failure 

Dreamcast was a failure 

I don't recall any of their portables doing much either.  

Sega had one major success...  the Genesis from the 90s.
