Yeah, definitely.  It just depends on how much Putin wants to stay in the fight

I think Putin is now trying the German's tactic at Verdun.

For those who don't know, the aim of the battle of Verdun in 1916 wasn't to conquer Verdun (though it would have been a nice bonus), but to "bleed out" the Entente's forces (If we leave out the colonies, Germany's population at the time was larger than the one of the UK and France combined). Turned out however, that the battle also drained their own forces, which resulted in their collapse 2 years later during the 100 days offensive.

And considering how the signup bonuses and wages for soldiers keep rising fast, I think Russia will share Germany's fate with their own tactic...
