Shadow1980 said: The old school Nintendo fan in me says "Super Switch," but my rational side says "Switch 2." It is simple, straightforward, and avoids confusion. It's the best possible way to convey "This is a new product. It's a bigger, better, more powerful next-gen Switch." |
Yes I prefer "Super Switch", but if it ends up looking pretty much exactly like the Switch, I feel like some unknowledgeable consumers, specifically parents buying it for their kids, could get confused between the Switch, Switch OLED, and Super Switch all looking like basically the same dang thing and might not know the difference between it being an upgraded Switch vs a whole new system.
If it looks significantly different than the Switch then I think Super Switch would be fine, but I doubt there will be much in the way of physical differences from the Switch to make them clearly discernible. Like if the SNES had just looked like a slightly bigger NES that woulda been confusing, of if GBA had looked just like GB it'd be like okay is this another upgrade like the GBC or is it a different system? So Switch 2 seems to be the obvious and best choice.
