Why do Disk Drives matter?

Well it does. Some Gamers also collect. They like to have a nice physical collection on display in their game room. It is part of the experience. 

Many of us do that aswell, myself included however if they want to throw away the entire medium because of a format, then they are not true gamers, they are collecters who only care what they collect. The moment they cannot collect the game anymore, they walk, making the games mean nothing to them in the end unless they can put it on their shelf.

Its like a Hunter, who dont care about the animals they hunt, they just want to hang the head on their wall.
