When i say it holds up well i'm talking about the perceived graphical difference. I think you discount the high level of optimization a skilled developer can do vs a unskilled developer. We come to the point where you need massive amounts of power just to get a slightly better looking game, and i'm not one of these people that say ps3 vs ps4 jump was not massive to me it was. Hades is not wowing anyone graphically lol. like I can see people looking at GOW:ragnorak and black myth on 4090 and saying GOW:ragnorak looks better to them based on the footage i been watching and looking at both. |
Permalite has been trying to explain this to you. Black Myth use more advanced graphic techniques for lighting, particles and volumetric. The reason the ps5 struggles with Black Myh is it doesn't have the power, period.
You seem to confuse personal preference with technical achievement. GoW is mid tier. Black Myth is top shelf. (Technically)
The reason the gap is close with GoW is because it isn't a technical masterpiece.
You underestimate hardware requirements.
I'll leave one last example.
Ori on the Switch is comparable to a 4090.
Witcher 3 on the Switch is not comparable to a 4090.
Using the two examples above, developer talent has nothing to do with it. Witcher 3 simply requires way more power than Ori.
GoW, from a technical perspective, is no Black Myth.
