Definitely, and the same goes for Paradox as well. I mean Paradox has its own store but no app. I guess one of the main appeals must be the ability to advertise whatever product of theirs they want to advertise in the launcher. Another might be gathering information, just like you said. I absolutely loathe launchers though, because they never provide me any value whatsoever. No, I don't want a quick launcher to be able to directly continue where I left off, and no, I don't want a mandatory launcher to manage mods when I don't use mods. A launcher for mods might be acceptable though, but ideally it shouldn't be mandatory either.
