Yeah, I think it's cemented for enthusiasts at this point at the very least, like sim race peripherals but I'd love to see a push to keep console VR alive, PSVR 2 recently got a price cut from 550 to 350, so there's that. It's the perfect middle ground between arcade games and high end PC stuff, just a pity no one will make proper games for it. 

It's a sale not a price cut. They doubtless timed the release of the pcvr adaptor to immediately after the sale ends to try and convince pcvr users that don't own a ps5 to take the plunge.
