this is the stupidest post i have ever read. NO Wii CANNOT and WILL NOT look any better then the gamecube at MAX. what do u think nintendo is giving us crap because they havent "found" the power of the wii? NO WAY. its NOT HD and its a LITTLE stronger then the GC at MAX power.... how are you people even comparing have you ever played 360/ps3 vs the wii?

The Wii is not "a little" stronger than "the GameCube at max."  What the hell does that even mean?  A GameCube with a Turbo-Charger and a Nitro button?  The GameCube was never fully utilized.  Factor5 was about the only company that seemed to come close, graphically.  The GC was also no push-over in the hardware department as it was quite a bit more powerful than the PS2.  One employeed at Factor5 even mentioned that the GC could "do anything the Xbox could" but that it just wasn't used properly.

The Wii is roughly twice as powerful as the GC, so it has some substantial power under it's hood.  Nothing comparable to the Xbox360 or PS3, of course, but it's a far cry above the PS2.  And since it is a more streamlined system than the Xbox, should have no trouble producing games visually superior to any Xbox titles.  As has been discussed before, the Xbox was simply a PC with certain "unnecessary" parts removed to make a game machine whereas the GC and Wii were both optimized as video game machines.  In essence, they're both more effecient.

Will the Wii ever look as good as Call of Duty 4?  Oh hell no.

Will it surpass even the very best looking PS2/GCV/Xbox games?  It better, because there's simply no reason for it not to.

Not counting PC's, when you get right down to it, there have only ever been two systems more powerful than the Wii in the history of gaming.  And with that in mind, there's no excuse for the crappy graphics we've seen on the system.  In fact, at this point, the only new system that won't be drastically improving in graphical quality over the course of it's life is the PSP.  Why?  It's just a PS2 engine in portable form.  Pretty much all it's secrets have been unlocked.  The Wii, DS, X360, and PS3 still have plenty of tricks up  their sleeves.
