When I read your post, the first hing that came to my mind was "wait a minute. There was a DSOG article about this!".

Sure enough, they posted an article about it telling how it's because of a botched update they did in early June and that they're working on a permanent fix. The article also has two ways to fix the problem, although neither of them are without some cons.
