Russia is slowly running out of Tanks, and especially the T-80B/BV variants:

Out of ~1200 visible good tanks before the war now less than 300 T-80 are still left. The T-72 meanwhile drops further and further in prominence on the battlefield, as their ratio in the Russian army keeps dropping in favor of other models, especially the T-62.

Not all of those are getting destroyed in Ukraine though: Russia is upgrading the T-80 B/BV to T-80 BVM standard, so naturally they are getting pulled from storage for repair and upgrade to this end.

But this all forces Russia to increasingly rely on their ancient tank models, as in the T-62 and T54/55, with the former alse getting upgrades. And while Russia built a lot of those tanks, their supply isn't endless, especially of tanks that old that are still in running order...
