At the end of the day, Zelda is a massively bigger franchise than Metroid I suppose. The highest selling Metroid sits at 3 million, while the highest selling Zelda is over 30 million, literally ten times as much.
I'm surprised Mario & Luigi didn't get more votes, considering its the revival of a beloved series thought to be dead.
