Like everyone said, the 360 is already cheaper than the Wii in EU and it's not having any effect on the Wii. It's not the price point, it's the innovation and games itself that is making it sell.

Besides, the 360/PS3 aren't going to get that close in terms of price. They're much more expensive to make than the Wii and it's going to take them years before they achieve that point where third parties are likely going to support the Wii mostly so it doesn't matter. Not to mention Wii sales will be far beyond PS3/360 sales.

There is no way in hell anything the 360 does will have any effect on Wii sales. It's because they consoles are viewed as performing 2 different tasks.

It's like saying, "If toasters drop to 40 bucks a pop, how will it affect microwave sales?"

It won't, it's silly, nothing the 360 or PS3 have ever done have effected demand for the Wii, and while pricing is important to the Wii, it's not relatively important compared to other consoles.

The PS3 could be 199 bucks, and be selling like hotcakes, but the Wii would still be selling like hotcakes as well.

People buy a Wii because it's cheap, and they are interested in it. Trust me when I tell you, that in most Wii purchase situations, the PS3 never comes up. Most Wii owners will never own a PS3 no matter how cheap it could concievably get, because the Wii interests them, as a fad, or a workout machine, or a motion controller, or a Wii-sports player, or a living room decoration, or a gaming device, or whatever. They could are less about the less popular, undground, hardcore PS3.

I mean, PS3 fanboys assume most Wii owners are casuals right? Well, casuals won't buy a PS3, and if they do, they'll play singstar and Bluray on it. NOT MGS4. Reality check.

Contradiction. I believe you want to go with Could Not unless you do think it would spark a sudden interest which would then contradict everything else you've said.

 

personally i think the ps3 price could have a major impact but we will see. It also depends a lot on the other consoles. If everything remained like this and the ps3 dropped then yes major boost... but it probably wont .. so we shall see !
