Now I don't care about Harry Potter. But with my 38 years, I came to a point where graphics and power simply do not matter anymore to me. I grew up with Star Fox running at 4 fps or something. I played GTA 4 the other day and still think the graphics of this 16 year old game are amazing. Graphics have gotten to a point, where they are just good enough for me, even on the low-end. Which is why I don't even think about it anymore and just get the games for the platform I prefer simply for reasons of convenience.

I don't know if I'm in the minority with that approach or not. As I said, I can only speak for myself.

Nothing wrong with that but if someone is a big Harry potter fan I would expect them to play a descent version cause the switch version is not even a true open world. It's cut back where it has load times, graphics look terrible compared to powerful hardware and frame rate is often dropping below 30fps with frame pacing if you are adult and don't love mobile gaming you really getting a butchered experience imo.

And as an adult who doesn't love mobile gaming*, I really couldn't care less how inferior the versions of games I'm playing are compared to others as long as they look and run well enough. There are a lot of things Soundwave has said in this thread that I don't agree with, but there's some merit to decades old IP like Harry Potter not being a kid's brand anymore because its base isn't strictly made up of kids anymore. Look at Pokemon: sure a significant demographic of fans are kids, but a lot of us that played it on Game Boy a quarter century ago are still kicking it.

I also think this notion that only kids care about the Switch is laughable. Remember that initial Switch reveal with all of those young adults using the Switch in different scenarios, like at a park or a rooftop party? I used to think that was silly and unrealistic, and Nintendo once again being out of touch with how real people play video games. Then I got a Switch. One day, while sitting on top of a table at the dog park while playing the Switch, it dawned on me that every scenario in that trailer (except at the b-ball court and on a professional esport team, lol) I found myself playing my switch: at home on the TV, at the dog park, in a vehicle while someone else is driving, at the airport, during lunchbreaks with coworkers, and at a small get together with friends.

You really should get past this outdated notion that "real gamers game on real hardware like PS and Xbox". As a lot of us "real gamers" have gotten older, our tastes and needs have changed. Outside of controversy like people losing their jobs and a lot of BS practices from greedy publishers, it's a great time to be a gamer because the hardware options are more varied than ever, and they've evolved to fit our changing lifestyles. So yeah, I'll take a version of a game I can play at home for a while before I stick in a bag and pick up later while I'm sitting in a lobby getting my car's tires replaced, then pick up where I left off while I spend an hour on a stationary bike at the gym, then come home and pick back up later on the TV. I'll get a lot more out of that than a prettier version that has to stay home.

*Not gonna lie, I probably play Pokemon GO more than anything now, because that's the one game I have on me at all times and it's convenient to play while walking to/from work, walking the dog, during free moments at work or while out and about. Kinda like what I just said about the Switch.
