So all/many of these people have high end rigs and are graphics enthusiasts ... they just choose to pass on games even one's that have won GOTY trophies (Alan Wake 2)

Alan Wake 2 is the fastest selling Remedy game of all time... despite the PC-exclusivity to the hated Epic Games Store Launcher.
In the long run, it will make huge profits compared to the development costs.

The slower selling "Control" earned 3x its development budget until last year and is still selling.

You also have to understand that there is a huge library of PC games with great graphics, so the revenue (and time of the PC games) is split between more demanding titles than on consoles.

I already have over 80 raytracing games in my library + the raytracing games on GamePass (like Starfield, Atomic Heart, Forza Motorsport...) and other demanding games like Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The "graphical showcase" Cyberpunk 2077 already sold over 25 million units, "Phantom Liberty" sold over 5 million units within its first few months, Hogwarts Legacy (very demanding and VRAM-hungry) sold over 24 million units. The Witcher 3 is still a "graphical showcase" due to the raytracing upgrade and sold over 50 million units...
