I think at least some VR equipment has required cameras of some sort (or something), but apparently that's not a thing with PSVR2, correct? At the moment, I'm thinking PSVR2 might finally look like a somewhat sensible way to get into VR (I don't want to get involved with Meta, and I don't want to pay like 800+ € either). |
Some PSVR2 key features, like HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback (other than rumble), are not available when playing on PC.
Without these features its only unique selling point is better blacks due to OLED, the rest can't impress in 2024, especially for €600 + €60 for the adapter box. Also the compatibility to PCVR games is probably a hit and miss, especially the controller compatibility.
My HP Reverb G2 costed €534 at launch in 2020 (similar resolution, similar lenses, much more comfortable to wear, bigger sweetspot, but worse controller tracking). Today I wouldn't recommend it any more, since Microsoft is killing WMV support soon.
Although I don't like Meta, Facebook and Zuckerberg, my next PCVR headset will probably be a Meta Quest (4 or 5).
