For the FF7 Remake, they should have just taken the Dragon Quest XI engine and used that to remake a more intimate version of the original. Add some optional content if you want, but otherwise, just stick with the original, and keep it all in one single game. Probably would have been cheaper to make and more profitable. When I played the Link's Awakening remake, I wasn't looking for a big huge hour-long storyline quest with Christine the Goat, I mainly wanted the essence of what made it great in the first place. Ditto with SMRPG Remake.
