None of those things is comparable to an AI. The whole point of an AI is to mimic what a human can do (or better) in multiple things, not to just do one thing. 

Automation in the car market has devastated cities like Detroit as well, parts of that city look like a literal war zone, AI won't just affect one industry it will simultaneously begin targeting dozens of them. 

Speculation.

Mismanagement killed Detroit, not automation.  

Fact is the next big thing is always going to kill jobs...  yet unemployment in the US is crazy low.  

People overreact.  Remember when Y2K was going to bring the end the world?
