Addicting Games You Had To Force Yourself to Stop Playing?

I see Dwarf Fortress mentioned. I’ve played ridiculous amounts of time, it’s one of my favourite games of all time, but I don’t think it had any major negative impacts on my life other than a few tired nights (along with games like SimCity 2000, SimEarth, and even SimAnt, strategy games like Star Craft Brood War, Victoria 2, Crusader Kings 2, and Sid Meier’s Civ 2).

Dwarf Fortress isn’t just a colony sim, it is so much more than that: a dynasty simulator, a history simulator, and Empire building game, a cultural simulator, a war simulator, an environmental simulator, and an emergent storyteller, and so much more. It is one of my favourite games of all time.
