Yes it's way too close, "could allow to reach a decision before March 5th" doesn't sound very promising.

Run off dates are far later during the year, so my uneducated guess would be there will be 'do-overs'.
I guess it would be similar to what happens when a candidate dies or withdraws during an election year (not that I know what happens then)
